NKWANTA SOUTH MP AND MCE COMMISSION AND HAND OVER NKPAYA SCHOOL BLOCK AND KECHEIBI SCHOOL RECEIVES MAJOR FACELIFT FOLLOWING COMMUNITY APPEAL.
The Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, Hon. Geoffrey Kini, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, have commenced a commissioning and handing-over exercise for completed educational projects in the Nkwanta South Municipality.
The Day One of the exercise saw the MP and MCE visit Nkpaya School and Kechei School, where the completed facilities were officially commissioned and handed over to the respective school communities.
The exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning across the municipality.
Teachers, pupils, parents, traditional leaders, community members and other stakeholders welcomed the projects and expressed their appreciation for the investment in education.
The leaders also encouraged the beneficiary communities and school authorities to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance to prolong their lifespan.
The commissioning and handing-over exercise is expected to continue with visits to other completed educational projects within the municipality.
The initiative underscores the commitment of stakeholders to improving access to quality education and providing schools with the necessary infrastructure to support effective teaching and learning in Nkwanta South.
The leadership of Kecheibi has expressed appreciation for the significant intervention made to address some of the pressing developmental needs of the community, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare.
Speaking on the community’s priority needs, the leadership of Kecheibi highlighted two major concerns — the Kecheibi Clinic and the Kecheibi School — which they said required urgent attention to improve the well-being and development of residents.
The education sector has, however, received a major boost following the re-roofing and maintenance of the Kecheibi School. The intervention has restored the school’s physical condition and is expected to provide a safer and more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The improved school facility is particularly significant as education remains a key foundation for the future development of the community. The rehabilitation is therefore expected to support teachers and pupils in carrying out their academic activities under better conditions.
The leadership of Kecheibi expressed gratitude to the authorities, stakeholders and all individuals who contributed to making the intervention possible, describing the development as an important step towards addressing the community’s educational needs.
While commending the progress made on the school, the community leadership also reiterated the need for continued attention to the Kecheibi Clinic, which remains one of the key priorities identified for the community.
